Progressive Opens Agent Education Portal

Carrier pushes continuing education by offering two free courses to staff members.

Progressive Insurance unveiled a new online learning portal for independent agents, called “Knowledge on Demand.”

The carrier is hosting the portal within ForAgentsOnly.com, its agency-dedicated website. According to a statement, all staff members will receive two free classes of their choice through the new portal, and will be encouraged to continue their education further with discounted rates.

"With Knowledge on Demand, it's easy for agents to access tools they can use to stay sharp professionally," says Karen Barone, agency distribution business leader. "Our new layout puts required courses right at agents' fingertips, helping them stay on top of state property/casualty licensing requirements. We also offer a wide range of learning materials so agents can stay current with all of Progressive’s products and services.”

Progressive partnered with education compliance specialist, RegEd (http://www.reged.com/), to offer hundreds of courses. The site includes "Featured Content" for quickly identifying new and important materials, and a "Top 10 List" that promotes courses other agents are accessing most often.

"Continuous training is the foundation that allows agents to grow their business. The more agents know about the products they sell, the better they can market to their customers," says Jesus Acosta, an independent agent at Lincoln Insurance Agency, Miami Beach, Fla.
