Zurich Voted Best Private Insurer

Schaumburg, Ill. — The readers of Trade Finance magazine have voted Zurich Financial Services' Emerging Markets Solutions group “Best Private Insurer” for 2008. This is the seventh consecutive win for the Zurich, Switzerland-based underwriter of political risk and trade credit insurance. The unit, based in Washington, D.C., develops coverages for customers investing and trading in more than 140 emerging markets around the world. Each year, Trade Finance (a Euromoney publication) conducts a readers’ poll that recognizes leading providers and arrangers of trade finance products and services.

“Zurich’s performance in our poll demonstrates the high regard in which this organization is held,” says Jonathan Bell, editor of Trade Finance. “This award recognizes the positive impact Zurich’s political risk and trade credit insurance products are having on the market.”

In acknowledging the award, Daniel Riordan, president of Zurich’s Surety, Credit and Political Risk group, says, “It is very gratifying to be recognized for the seventh consecutive year by the readers of Trade Finance magazine.
