Quaker Special Risk Expands Southeast Presence

Virtual Water Cooler, December 6, 2008

Eatontown, N.J. — Quaker Special Risk, an independent, full-service wholesale brokerage firm, announced the opening of a new regional office in Duluth, Ga.

Jake Terrell, RPLU, will lead and manage the southeast regional office for Quaker Special Risk. Terrell has previous wholesale brokerage experience, as well as underwriting and management experience at Maxum, Aon and DPIC.

The new regional office will be a wholesale broker, handling professional liability (E&O and management liability) and P&C coverage. Kris Dobbins and Joan Lee join Terrell at the location. Dobbins comes from a casualty underwriting background, while Lee’s expertise is in professional liability and support services

"Atlanta is a key business hub, not only for financial and technology companies, but also for a number of diverse industries including construction, manufacturing and real estate, to name a few," says Frank Walsh, Quaker’s president. "The new office offers Quaker Special Risk ample opportunities to help businesses discuss their insurance needs with underwriters who are very familiar with their industry-specific risks, and the coverages that can most effectively manage them.”
