GEICO Names Campbell SVP and CFO

January 5, 2009

Washington — GEICO’s board of directors recently announced that Mike Campbell has been elected SVP and CFO of GEICO, effective January 3.

Campbell joined GEICO in 1982 as manager of corporate financial reporting and was promoted to director of corporate financial reporting in 1985. He became associate controller in 1986, and was named VP in 2003. Campbell was elected to the GEICO board of directors in 2005.

“Mike has a keen analytical mind and knows our finances inside and out,” says CEO Tony Nicely. “In his new role as chief financial officer, Mike will continue to build our financial strength as he has throughout his 27-year career. Mike has also become a valuable member of the senior management policy and strategy team.”

Campbell also serves as a director of the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation, Plaza Investment Managers Inc. and Plaza Resources at the company’s home office.
