Arthur J. Gallagher Acquires Benefits Insurance Broker

Gallagher looks to Unison’s industry relationships to complement its employee benefits brokerage operation.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., an insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, has acquired Unison Inc., an employee benefits insurance broker that offers group employee benefits products and consulting services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gallagher says Unison specializes in providing group health and welfare, business insurance, financial planning, executive, retirement and communication products and services. The Unison team will continue to operate from the Minnetonka, Minn., location under the direction of William Ziebell, north central regional executive VP of Gallagher's employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.

J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., says Unison’s geographic presence and solid industry relationships will complement the company’s employee benefits brokerage and consulting operation.
