NAILBA Launches APS Summary Course

Fairfax, Va. - In order to assist brokerage general agencies place more business and control costs, the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA), Fairfax, Va. , launched a new Attending Physician’s Statement (APS) Summary Course.

In the APS Summary Course, brokerage general agency staff will acquire the basic and fundamental knowledge and insight needed to review medical records from attending physicians, clinics and hospitals, and to be able to extract the essential information underwriters need from those medical records to be able to determine an insurance applicant's insurability, says NAILBA.

“NAILBA research demonstrates that one of the most cumbersome procedures in the entire application pipeline is the informal process,” stated Doug Mishkin, chairman of the board at NAILBA, which serves 330 member agencies in the U.S. that represent 100,000 producers who deliver more than one billion dollars in first year life insurance premiums annually. “The NAILBA APS Summary Course helps make both BGAs (specialist general insurance brokers servicing the business community) more efficient in submission and carriers more effective and timely in their tentative offers.”
