San Antonio, Texas - Wi-Fi is now being offered to BlackBerry customers. AT&T Inc., San Antonio, Texas and Research In Motion Ltd., Waterloo, Ontario have announced that the first cellular and Wi-Fi BlackBerry handset-the BlackBerry 8820-is available for purchase.

The BlackBerry 8820 is designed to provide support for 802.11a, b and g with enterprise security features, extending the BlackBerry platform to business customers at public hot spots and on wireless local area networks. AT&T claims customers should be able to use a BlackBerry 8820 to link to their enterprise through home Wi-Fi networks, as well as access broadband services.
