West Bend Mutual Insurance Co., a P&C insurer specializing in home, auto, business and specialty insurance, has selected RC Inspection to streamline its loss-prevention operations. The software is a product of Risk Control Technologies Inc., a provider of loss-control software solutions for insurers.
Risk Control says RC Inspection will allow West Bend to automate its loss-prevention survey processes to reduce manual tasks; improve the quality and consistency of survey reports delivered to key stakeholders; track and follow up on outstanding recommendations that affect risk profiles; and provide its underwriting team with timely data for decision making. The company also can eliminate paper loss-control files; enhance data mining and reporting around loss-control data; and equip its field loss-prevention team with tablet devices.
Risk Control says the field staff will receive tablet devices, which will be loaded with the RC Inspection field application for field data collection, allowing for the collection of risk data, photos, recommendations and diagrams in the field, even in locations without mobile broadband connections.
Once data is collected in the field, it is uploaded into a central database, which allows underwriters to use the information in making underwriting decisions, says Risk Control. This central data repository also offers data mining and reporting capabilities that, traditionally, had been unavailable in the paper-based loss-control environment.
