5 Insurers Recognized as Novarica’s Research Council Impact Award Winners

Allstate, Great American and three others take home awards for best practices in insurance industry IT initiatives and strategy.

Novarica presented its first annual Research Council Impact Awards in New York today to honor best practices in insurance industry IT initiatives and strategy. The winners (one each in the categories of Practice, Quick Hit, Expansion, and Transformation), were selected by a direct vote of the 300+ insurer CIO and senior IT executive members of the Novarica Insurance Technology Research Council.

PRACTICE CATEGORY: Allstate Financial

Allstate Financial established an enterprisewide test environment that uses one algorithm to scrub data across applications. Read the full case study HERE.

QUICK HIT: Great American

TRANSFORMATION: American Safety Insurance and Capitol Insurance Companies (tie)

These five and the other eight nominees were were selected by a committee from a collection of case studies drafted by Novarica from submissions by insurers. The nominating committee included CIOs Andy Wood (Wilton Re), Dan Simpson (Trustmark), Eric Bulis (SBLI USA), Larry Fortin (Millers Mutual Group), Mark Berthiaume (Chubb), Pete Moreau (Amica), Piyush Singh (Great American Insurance Company), Reuben Broadfoot (LifeMap), Sal Abano (Tower Insurance), Stuart Tainsky (PURE), and Tim Billow (ING).
