LWCC Promotes Two Execs
Paul Buffone now SVP chief claims and information officer; John Hawie, CFA, now SVP chief strategy and investment officer.

Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. (LWCC), a private, nonprofit mutual insurance company, has promoted two key executives. Paul Buffone is now SVP and chief claims and information officer, and John Hawie, CFA, is SVP and chief strategy and investment officer.
Buffone joined LWCC in 1993 as a law clerk, later holding various attorney positions for the company before becoming senior corporate counsel. He was named director of litigation services in 2001 and promoted to AVP of risk management services in 2006. He was named VP of risk management services in 2008, and then to SVP of risk management services in 2010.
Hawie joined LWCC in 2009 as SVP and CIO. He previously served as SVP and CIO for Commerce Group. Prior, he was team leader and portfolio manager for General Re-New England Asset Management.
