UK Motorists Shopping Longer Online for Auto Quotes
Insurance Networking News, June 23, 2009
According to recent a survey by UK-based insurer Swinton, the average UK motorist spends two hours searching online for a car insurance quote, up from 1.5 hours in May 2008.
The poll of 1,000 Swinton customers found that motorists are spending more time online looking for inexpensive car insurance. The company attributes the 30-minute spike in shopping time to the financial pressures felt by customers during the current recession.
In recent years, Swinton says, the length of time spent by motorists searching for a car insurance quote had dropped significantly—each year reducing by between five and 15 minutes. This is the first time in five years that the trend has changed.
