ING's U.S. Insurance division announced today a new way for agents to maximize the potential that mobile applications can provide them in the field. Life Illustration Express Mobile, a new tool that agents can use on their tablets and mobile devices, allows agents to run illustrations and compare premium quotes for multiple term and universal life insurance products simultaneously, thus helping clients make informed choices when it comes to coverage decisions.

"With more mobile devices in the U.S. today than people, it's important to keep pace with the evolving communications landscape and develop ways that make it easier to do business," said Kurt Fasen, SVP of ING Insurance Sales Support. "Agents are constantly on-the-go and they need to be able to access and distribute information quickly. ING's new Life Illustration Express Mobile leverages the latest advances in mobile and smart phone technology and allows agents to respond to their clients in real time with illustrations and quotes."

It was recently reported that internal apps for agents were lagging as they stalled in the decision-making process —with only 12 of the top 100 life insurers implementing apps for their sales force. Albeit with a service that was already available to agents online, ING is attempting to turn this corner.

Optimized for iPhone, iPad and Android platforms, the tool requires no software installation; agents can launch it from their web browser and add it to their home screen. There is also no login required, as agents enter client criteria to compare term and universal life products with the option to email clients the results.
