2013 Could Set Record for Latest-Forming Hurricane of the Season
The eighth tropical storm of the season could become its first hurricane by Wednesday; if it doesnt, it will be the first time the industry hasnt seen a hurricane hit land by mid-September.

This is the first season in 11 years not to have produced a landfalling hurricane by the end of August. However, September is usually the busiest month, with a historical average of 2.1 hurricanes.
