CAPITOL SELECTS STG BILLING SYSTEM
Middleton, Wis.-based Capitol Insurance Cos. chose Renaissance Billing Solution from New York-based Systems Task Group International Ltd.'s (STG) to support billing and accounts receivable operations. The system will replace Capitol's existing billing systems and will enable the consolidation, centralization and the streamlining of Capitol's cash management and accounting operations. It will provide Capitol with advanced technology support, flexibility and configurability.
AIG GAINS VISIBILITY TO ENTERPRISEWIDE TRAFFIC
AIG Technologies Inc., an American International Group Inc. member company based in Columbia, S.C., will use ReporterAnalyzer network traffic analysis product and services from NetQoS Inc., headquartered in Austin, Texas. ReporterAnalyzer is designed to handle the volume of flow data of large networks, providing real-time visibility into enterprisewide network traffic and one year's access to detailed data. ReporterAnalyzer captures a rich set of traffic statistics from Cisco IOS NetFlow or other IPFIX-enabled routers and switches to identify which applications and users are consuming bandwidth, and when.
ONEAMERICA PICKS PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
OneAmerica Financial Partners Inc., a stock subsidiary of Indianapolis-based American United Mutual Insurance Holding Co., signed an agreement with Investigo Corp., headquartered in Edina, Minn., for a Web-based data consolidation and reporting software solution that will support its entire broker/dealer network. The practice management system provides a combination of financial management, sales and marketing productivity, and regulatory compliance tools in a single system with features that could dramatically reduce operating costs and increase productivity.
THREE STATES MOVE TO WEB-BASED REGULATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Indiana, Nevada, Wisconsin and Wyoming will move to Sircon for States, a Web-based insurance regulation management solution from Sircon Corp., Okemos, Mich. Sircon hosts and maintains licenses, hardware and software. Sircon for States is designed to provide new functions and best practices for regulators who help guide development through the State Insurance Regulators Consortium (SIRC). It eliminates paper forms used for appointing and licensing and provides built-in support for enforcement case action, consumer complaints, producer data, and rate and form filing.
CONSECO CHOOSES VERINT OPUS FOR PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Indianapolis-based Conseco Inc. deployed Opus from Melville, N.Y.-based Verint Opus to enhance operational performance across its call center operations, policy holder services and medical management divisions. Conseco predicts Opus will identify the root causes of service performance issues and continually monitor the effectiveness of Conseco's operations.
SUNCORP TO DEPLOY GUIDEWIRE CLAIM SYSTEM
Suncorp Metway Ltd. selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as its new claims system. The system will support all phases of the claims process for Suncorp's personal and commercial lines of business. After Australia-based Suncorp found itself with multiple claims systems, following several mergers, it decided to replace the systems with the Web-based system from San Mateo, Calif.-based Guidewire Software. With ClaimCenter, Suncorp aims to gain a modern technology foundation on which to consolidate and streamline its claim process.
MASS. BLUES SELECTS PORTICO COMPLIANCE SYSTEM
Boston-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) selected Portico NPI, from Portico Systems, headquartered in Conshohocken, Pa., to facilitate compliance with the National Provider Identifier (NPI) as mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. "We found the Portico solution to be very well-designed for our needs, requiring minimal remediation to our existing legacy systems," says Vinny Plourde, vice president of provider services, BCBSMA.
INSURER CREATES PLATFORM WITH SAP SOFTWARE
Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft Aktiengesellschaft in Munich (Munich Re) implemented SAP Reinsurance Management reinsurance software from Germany-based SAP AG, which is the core of Munich's new IT platform in international reinsurance business. Gloria (Global Reinsurance Application), which is the IT platform, replaced 17 legacy systems for electronic data management. Munich Re now standardizes business processes and the handling of reinsurance business and improves the quality and efficiency of individual activities such as underwriting, claims management and accounting. Munich Re also reports speedier analysis, control and administration of all reinsurance business.
