How will the recent efforts of agents trying to organize into a formal union affect the independent agent network? How will it affect carriers?

I don't see any problem with this move. Forming a union would benefit the agents in the long run. This would serve as protection to agents against companies that are manipulating independent contractor rules for their benefit as well as reducing compensation for agents.
