Agent/Carrier Relationships: Driving Growth and Efficiency

Agent/Carrier Relationships: Driving Growth and Efficiency

What do agents want? A number of studies point to agents' requests for more support from insurers. But some believe that the support being doled out is not provided equally.

What are the priorities—should the smaller producers get more or less financial, training and technology help?

I think everyone should get a fair shot at training. Both the small and the large producers require ongoing education in order to do their job well. I understand allotting more financial support to the larger producers, but education should be divided among everyone. With the proper knowledge, a small producer can become a large one.

I agree with you, Tiffany. Every insurance agent working today needs some form of continuing education. And these days, I think most agents seem to favor webinars as the way to learn, hence that's not costly.
