Mark McLaughlin

Director of Strategy

Mark McLaughlin is IBM’s Director of Strategy for Insurance. Mark leads IBM’s Global Insurance Team, which defines IBM’s point of view on insurance business issues, directs IBM’s investments in Insurance Solutions, and deploys global experts to solve business and technical issues for the world’s largest insurers. Mark has authored and presented insurance industry studies to many of the world’s top insurers and is a frequent conference presenter. Mark also directs innovation workshops and discussions with senior insurance leaders, bringing IBM’s worldwide expertise and IBM Research insights together to build sustainable competitive advantage.

Mark previously has led business units in technology infrastructure, CRM, and insurance process consultancy. Mark has personally led implementations of commercial claims systems, PMO organizations, data warehouses, and underwriting expert systems for multiple top 10 US P&C insurers. He is a 20-year veteran of the insurance industry.
